Key Responsibilities:

The Quality Control Chief Inspector will report directly to the Director of Quality Control and Engineering and will maintain direct communication with all Inspectors.

  • Support the Director of Quality in fulfilling their responsibilities.
  • Ensure that personnel assigned to specific customer programs are adequately qualified and capable of executing their roles effectively, which includes evaluating training requirements and job functions against individual skills and knowledge.
  • Coordinate inspection programs with other relevant departments.
  • Collaborate with the Training Department to oversee the training of Inspection Department personnel and disseminate information regarding new inspection procedures and methodologies.
  • Propose enhancements to inspection procedures and methods to improve quality and operational efficiency.
  • Supervise and allocate duties to inspectors.
  • Ensure that shift inspectors provide essential handover information to their replacements to guarantee the proper completion of ongoing work.
  • Verify that each inspection-required function has a qualified inspector available to perform the task.
  • Prepare and ensure the completion of all Service Difficulty Reports and Mechanical Interruption Summaries.
  • Oversee the selection, discipline, and release of personnel within the Inspection Department.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Director of Quality.
  • Assist, supervise, and guide all personnel within the Inspection Department.
  • Ensure that all inspections are conducted thoroughly on completed work and that all maintenance records, reports, and forms are accurately completed prior to approval for return to service.
  • Confirm that all technical data and articles overhauled or repaired by the Repair Station are secured and updated with the latest revisions by the respective department inspectors.
  • Ensure periodic checks on all inspection tools and the calibration of precision testing equipment used by the Repair Station, maintaining current records of these inspections and tests.
  • Guarantee that no defective, unserviceable, or unairworthy parts are installed in any components or articles released by the Repair Station.
  • Submit reports regarding defects or unairworthy conditions as required.
  • Ensure the proper completion of FAA Form 337 when necessary, along with maintenance or inspection releases.
  • Conduct final acceptance inspections of all incoming materials, including new parts and supplies, as well as articles serviced externally.
  • Carry out preliminary, hidden damage, in-progress, and final inspections of all articles processed by the Repair Station, documenting results as specified.
  • Oversee the proper tagging and identification of all parts and components as outlined in the manual.
  • Ensure continuity of inspection responsibilities, assuring completion of required inspections during personnel shifts or assignment changes.
  • Ensure that rejected and unserviceable parts are managed to prevent their reuse as serviceable components.
  • Maintain organized files of completed work orders and inspection forms for easy retrieval and review.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Training, Education, or related fields.
  • A minimum of five years in Commercial Maintenance, five years in Inspection, and five years in Quality Control Management.
  • Active A&P License is required.
  • Over ten years of experience in Quality Control Management.
