OVERVIEW:

The role involves conducting thorough inspections, evaluations, tests, and sampling procedures related to maintenance practices and incoming materials, components, and parts. When necessary, assess products provided to the program to ensure compliance with customer specifications and AAR standards to achieve exceptional quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the Quality Control (QC) Manager in the preparation for all ISO 9001:2008, U.S. Government, defense department, and customer quality assessments.
  • Generate all required reports for both customer and internal personnel.
  • Operate in accordance with the QC program to guarantee accurate service delivery.
  • Implement the Quality Assurance Program Plan (QAPP) and oversee all quality control activities.
  • Collaborate closely with the Sustaining Engineering Service (SES) Manager on aircraft/equipment trend analysis, material reliability, product quality, and Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) challenges.
  • Manage the On-site Safety/Environmental Program and Technical Order Distribution Office (TODO).
  • Provide effective training and on-the-job training for the QC team.
  • Assist the QC Manager in developing and maintaining a robust QC program to ensure service quality.
  • Conduct comprehensive Quality Control Inspections (QCI) and program audits in accordance with Technical Orders (TOs), Performance Work Statements (PWS), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
  • A bachelor's degree with 2 years of relevant experience in Quality Assurance.
  • An associate's degree with 4 years of relevant experience in Quality Assurance.
  • A High School Diploma with 8 years of relevant experience in Quality Assurance.
  • At least 2 years of Quality Assurance experience on fighter aircraft in a modification and/or maintenance setting.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, system schematics, blueprints, and technical policy/maintenance instructions.
  • Proven ability to identify and comprehend non-conformities related to safety-of-flight inspections, procedural failures, and program audits.
  • Experience with Quality Management System (QMS) internal audit processes.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be capable of lifting and carrying parts, tools, and other items that may weigh over 50 lbs, including navigating stairs, aircraft maintenance stands, and platforms.
  • Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday.
  • Must possess adequate vision and hearing, or utilize prosthetics to ensure these senses function properly to meet the job requirements.
  • Work is conducted in an aircraft depot facility, which may include occasional operations on the flight line, in hangars, and/or in aviation field environments.
