We are currently seeking a meticulous and reliable Senior Construction Inspector III to enhance our Infrastructure team across various projects. This role involves supervising and conducting construction inspections to ensure adherence to project specifications, approved plans, and relevant documentation. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and submitting detailed, accurate, and comprehensive inspection reports daily, in line with established quality standards.
  • Reviewing project plans, specifications, and working drawings prior to commencing inspection duties.
  • Conducting and overseeing compliance tests on materials and completed work, utilizing standard methods as defined by relevant agencies.
  • Training and guiding less experienced team members while prioritizing work tasks effectively.
  • Assisting in the planning and coordination of inspection operations with direct supervisors.
  • Engaging with contractors and project leaders on-site to discuss testing and inspection processes.
  • Evaluating material tests and completed work to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Ensuring the proper collection and adequacy of samples for testing.
  • Maintaining safe practices in the use and storage of all inspection tools and documentation.
  • Fostering positive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborating closely with supervisors to set priorities and communicate progress on tasks.
  • Participating in the Raba Kistner Health & Safety programs and exemplifying safety standards.
  • Performing additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of 25 years of experience in roadway construction inspection or equivalent certification in Transportation Engineering Technology is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is necessary, along with the ability to travel to various project sites.

Related experience or education may be considered as a substitute for on-the-job experience. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to follow detailed instructions. Candidates should be proficient in basic mathematical calculations, including algebra and geometry. Certifications in relevant testing procedures and safety courses are advantageous but may be pursued post-employment if not already obtained. Extensive knowledge of highway construction plans, inspection procedures, and materials testing is required.

This position may involve physical activities such as lifting up to 70 pounds and navigating uneven terrain. The work environment may expose employees to various hazards, necessitating adherence to safety protocols and the use of protective equipment.

Flexibility in working hours may be required to meet project demands, including potential travel to various locations.
