POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Head of Market Access Strategy is a dedicated and experienced professional who is committed to surpassing expectations. This role demands exceptional leadership, analytical, and negotiation capabilities, along with the ability to introduce innovation and adaptability within the organization. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with key stakeholders, including Finance, Marketing, Sales, Medical Affairs, Trade, Business Development, and Global Headquarters, while reporting directly to the Head of Marketing.

In this pivotal role, you will lead the contracting initiatives for the Almirall product line. This is a vital position, as you will be tasked with securing and managing profitable access to our offerings. Additionally, you will cultivate business relationships with C-Suite executives within accounts to align with both customer needs and the Almirall portfolio. Your responsibilities will also encompass developing strategic business plans, fostering relationships with essential payers, and executing account business strategies that align with organizational goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Formulate, develop, and oversee a comprehensive National Managed Markets Payer/Market Access strategy in collaboration with the executive team.
  • Lead and mentor the Managed Markets Team.
  • Track payer formulary management and coverage policies that affect the Almirall product portfolio.
  • Maximize revenue potential across the entire Almirall portfolio while adhering to product labeling and company policies.
  • Create and deliver compelling clinical, economic, and business presentations to clients based on mutual benefits.
  • Establish and nurture business partnerships within targeted accounts, including Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) and select payer accounts.
  • Drive formulary acceptance of Almirall products to meet performance objectives within assigned accounts.
  • Align company priorities to formulate account plans that contribute to defined business objectives.
  • Monitor progress in key accounts and devise appropriate action plans to ensure success.
  • Build effective relationships with crucial C-Suite and administrative roles within accounts.
  • Collaborate with Sales Force Leadership to develop and implement effective strategies.
  • Identify opportunities for partnerships that align with both Almirall and customer objectives.
  • Stay informed about local and national healthcare issues and trends to establish credibility.
  • Develop business cases to support rebate contracts and negotiate for improved formulary access.
  • Provide leadership and development to internal and external teams to foster strong relationships.
  • Work with the marketing and channel access team on key strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain open communication with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and analyze formulary changes and performance.
  • Exercise sound judgment to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Participate in meetings and conferences as required.
  • Embody and promote Almirall's core values and leadership behaviors.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • A minimum of three years in a senior leadership role within managed care.
  • At least 8-10 years of successful management experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on contracting and negotiation.
  • Comprehensive understanding of managed customer segments, both private and governmental.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
  • Experience in coaching and developing team members.
  • Two or more years of experience leading field account managers.
  • Willingness to travel up to 70%.
