Position Overview
As a seasoned and results-oriented Branch Sales Manager, you will spearhead and enhance all sales initiatives within your designated TruGreen branch. The successful candidate will be instrumental in recruiting and mentoring a high-performing sales team to boost sales volume, optimize profits, and uphold the TruGreen Commitment. This role requires the formulation of strategic plans aimed at expanding our customer base within the local market area.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy Development: Formulate detailed sales strategies and forecasts at the branch level. Maintain strict oversight of sales results to ensure the achievement of sales targets within financial constraints.
Marketing Program Implementation: Collaborate in executing various marketing initiatives, including door-to-door outreach, direct mail campaigns, and both inside and outside marketing efforts, to stimulate profit growth and broaden TruGreen's service offerings. Provide valuable insights from the local market and customer feedback to the TruGreen Marketing team.
Lead Generation: Create lists of prospective customers to generate sales leads. Leverage information from direct mail campaigns, advertisements, community events, trade shows, and business seminars. Additionally, assist in closing sales as necessary.
Customer Satisfaction Management: Address customer concerns related to sales and service. Analyze and manage new sale cancellation requests to proactively retain clientele.
Training and Development: Organize and conduct ongoing training sessions for sales personnel, focusing on customer service excellence, effective sales techniques, and adherence to safety protocols.
Workflow Oversight: Establish and manage work procedures, create work schedules, and facilitate workflow to enhance efficiency. Monitor and report on the hourly, daily, and weekly sales performance of each team member.
Performance Management: Develop, implement, and maintain performance standards, metrics, and corrective strategies to ensure the achievement of approved plans and objectives within the sales organization.
Staffing and Human Resources Management: Lead the recruitment, interviewing, and staffing of peak sales representatives. Assess staff performance, provide salary recommendations, and enforce disciplinary actions in line with company policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or 2 - 3 years of relevant experience in the lawn/horticulture agronomic sector, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience in sales.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in utilizing sales analytics and CRM tools.
- Willingness to travel to all Door to Door routes within the market.
- Certificates, licenses, and registrations as mandated by federal and state law.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the organization, products, and/or services.
- Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
- Proven leadership and capability to drive sales teams.
- Ability to perform calculations such as discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, and volume.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; effectively present information and respond to inquiries from groups of managers, specialists, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to identify customer issues, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret various instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Other essential knowledge, skills, and abilities include but are not limited to: Attention to Detail, Organizational skills, Adaptability, and Flexibility.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
