Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and executes manufacturing workflows within the facility as designated.
  • Enhances departmental performance through immediate troubleshooting and coordination of technical resources.
  • Contributes to team objectives by completing related assignments as necessary.
  • Manufacturing processes may encompass machining, assembly, automation, and quality testing.
  • Monitors performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities and oversee enhancements.
  • Boosts operational efficiency by developing, implementing, and assessing new procedures.
  • Delivers comprehensive guidelines for process operations and modifications.
  • Conducts risk evaluations and supports Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) methodologies.
  • Collaborates with planning and design teams regarding product design and tooling to ensure optimal production techniques.
  • Develops, assesses, and refines manufacturing methodologies, leveraging knowledge of product design, materials, fabrication processes, tooling, production equipment capabilities, assembly techniques, and quality assurance standards.
  • Analyzes and designs workflows, staffing allocations, and spatial requirements for maximum operational efficiency.
  • Employs process simulation software to evaluate and determine the most effective production strategies.
  • Prepares reports to document process status and modifications.
  • Estimates production timelines, staffing needs, and associated costs to inform management decisions.
  • Engages with management, engineering, and other personnel regarding manufacturing capabilities, production timelines, and other factors to streamline production processes.
  • Communicates insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Evaluates adherence to relevant safety and quality regulations.

Supervision:

Reports to the Engineering/Maintenance Manager.

Work Experience:

  • Prior experience with CAD and AutoCAD, PFEMA/Control Plans (IQS), Process Data/Results related Programs (Database), Project Management Programs (CDB).
  • Solid understanding of scientific principles.
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience in Tier 1 automotive environments.
  • Familiarity with robotic programming.
  • Practical experience with lean methodologies such as Value Stream Mapping, Kanban system design and implementation, and Total Predictive Maintenance.
  • Experience with structured problem-solving techniques and tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and manage tasks effectively.
  • Capable of organizing work requirements and delegating tasks appropriately.
  • Hands-on experience with equipment for troubleshooting, process support, and change management.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination skills.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent.

A minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing assembly process engineering.
