- Delivers comprehensive instructions for process operations and modifications.
- Conducts risk evaluations and supports Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) methodologies.
- Collaborates with planning and design teams regarding product specifications and tooling to ensure effective production practices.
- Develops, assesses, and refines manufacturing techniques, leveraging knowledge of product design, materials, fabrication processes, tooling, production equipment capabilities, assembly techniques, and quality assurance protocols.
- Analyzes and designs workflows, staffing utilization, and spatial requirements for optimal efficiency.
- Employs process simulation software to evaluate and identify the most effective production strategies.
- Compiles reports to document process conditions and modifications.
- Estimates production timelines, staffing needs, and associated costs to inform management decisions.
- Engages with management, engineering, and other personnel regarding manufacturing capabilities, production timelines, and other factors to streamline production operations.
- Communicates insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Evaluates adherence to relevant safety and quality standards.
Supervision:
Reports to the Engineering/Maintenance Manager.
Work Experience:
- Prior experience with CAD and AutoCAD, PFEMA/Control Plans (IQS), Process Data/Results related Programs (Database), Project Management Programs (CDB).
- Strong grasp of scientific principles.
- Experience with Six Sigma methodologies (Green or Black Belt).
- Background in Tier 1 automotive manufacturing.
- Familiarity with robotic programming.
- Practical experience with lean methodologies such as Value Stream Mapping, Kanban system design and implementation, and Total Predictive Maintenance.
- Experience with structured problem-solving techniques and tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work independently and self-manage tasks.
- Capable of organizing work requirements and delegating tasks effectively.
- Hands-on experience with equipment for troubleshooting, process support, and change management.
- Strong hand-eye coordination.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent field.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing assembly process engineering.
