Position Overview:

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a dedicated Senior Environmental Health Specialist to enhance our operational excellence at our Camden facility. This role is pivotal in formulating, executing, and overseeing environmental, health, and safety (EHS) protocols to ensure adherence to applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The specialist will play a crucial role in mitigating risks and liabilities associated with EHS.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of OSHA 1910 General Industry standards.
  • Conduct thorough hazard analyses and risk assessments.
  • Assist in investigating incidents and propose effective corrective measures.
  • Perform regular audits and inspections to identify compliance gaps.
  • Lead projects focused on safety and risk management, including incident investigations and process hazard analyses.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance EHS awareness across the site.
  • Act as a liaison among employees, management, clients, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Minimal travel may be required (less than 5%).
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance (Secret) is necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant EHS experience.
  • Master's degree with at least 4 years of related EHS experience.
  • Alternatively, a minimum of 10 years of relevant EHS experience without a degree.
  • A bachelor's degree in safety or a related discipline is required; a master's degree is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in safety within a manufacturing environment, particularly in Aerospace.

Preferred Skills:

  • Master's degree is highly desirable.
  • Experience in project management is advantageous.
  • Ability to interpret facility site schematics and building design plans.
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) standards.
  • Knowledge of Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Process Safety Management (PSM).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and GIS software, including ArcGIS and ArcMap.
  • Understanding of munitions, explosives, and energetic materials, including safety measures to prevent mishaps.
  • Experience with safety protocols such as Confined Spaces, Fall Protection, Lock Out Tag Out, Machine Guarding, and Electrical Safety (NFPA 70E).
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910, 29 CFR 1926) and DoD 4145 standards is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of relevant standards, including OSHA, OSHA PSM, NFPA, NEC, and ANSI, along with applicable regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
