As a Senior AFSIM Analyst at Lockheed Martin, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of defense technology. Our Operations Analysis team is at the forefront of innovation, leveraging cutting-edge design and technology to impact the future of the warfighter.

The Work
  • Conduct in-depth studies through modeling, simulation, and analysis of military systems using AFSIM.
  • Formulate analysis plans, leading or participating in teams to create and execute study plans, focusing on quantifying the impact of operational concepts, system design variants, payloads, weapons, tactics, and force size/mix.
  • Engage with stakeholders, asking critical questions, iterating on feedback, and working closely with customers and stakeholders to understand their needs and refine analysis objectives.
  • Research and model military systems' performance and operations, using AFSIM and other simulation tools.
  • Execute and analyze trade studies, quantify Measures of Effectiveness (MOEs) and Measures of Performance (MOPs), and analyze simulation results using data analytics to draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Prepare and present reports and briefings, presenting analysis trends, and providing insights to support requirements definition, concept evaluation, and military utility assessment.
  • Support cross-functional activities, contributing to digital simulations, virtual reconstructive events, or wargaming activities across various Lockheed Martin business areas.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, or other technical degree a related discipline, typical experience 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
  • AFSIM experience.
  • Knowledge of military operations, tactics, and organization.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD TS/SCI Clearance.
Desired Skills
  • Military operational experience.
  • Project management and leadership experience.
  • Advanced Technical Degree.
  • Familiarity/experience with other Operations Analysis tools such as STK, Command PE, ExtendSim and/or Cameo.
  • Experience with C++, Python and Git/Gitlab.
  • Expertise in computer-based analytical tools and office applications (data analysis).
  • Knowledge of major combat simulations and models, analytical methods, sensors and weapon systems and/or cross-domain operational effects.
  • Experience with working in and leading teams.
  • Familiarity with Agile practices & execution.
