Role Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Microelectronics Packaging Engineer to join our dynamic team in El Segundo, California. This role is crucial in supporting various defense and space initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in materials science and extensive experience in microelectronics process development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define requirements for tools, equipment, materials, and processes utilized in the design and production of Boeing products.
- Draft engineering specifications and documentation to facilitate the deployment of tools and processes.
- Evaluate emerging technologies for potential integration into business operations.
- Develop and qualify new tools and processes to meet stringent requirements.
- Conduct routine tests and audits to ensure supplier compliance with applicable standards.
- Analyze performance metrics to identify and resolve issues related to tools and materials.
- Implement corrective and preventive measures to enhance operational efficiency.
- Design and develop advanced microelectronic packaging solutions for next-generation electronics.
- Lead the establishment of new in-house production capabilities, including process and equipment setup.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance to technical teams.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in microelectronics packaging.
- Document and present technical findings to stakeholders and at industry conferences.
Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry, physics, mathematics, or a related field.
- 10+ years of leadership experience in the microelectronics sector.
- 5+ years of experience with laboratory tools and equipment.
- 5+ years of experience implementing statistical process controls.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 15+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in the development and qualification of microelectronic integration capabilities.
- Active security clearance is a plus.
- Familiarity with CAD, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and statistical software.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize and interpret complex data.
- Proven experience leading teams on intricate projects.
Work Environment:
This position requires 100% onsite work, and candidates must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
