Position Overview:
This role is integral to the Prosthetic & Sensory Aids Service (PSAS) within the Prosthetic Service Line. The successful candidate will be stationed at a designated VA Medical Center.
Key Responsibilities:
Note: This is not a remote position; candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance.

The primary duties include, but are not limited to:
- Submitting detailed Acquisition Plans and Procurement Packages tailored to stock and Veteran-specific requirements to the Network Contracting Office, ensuring all relevant documents are uploaded to the Electronic Contract Management System (eCMS).
- Verifying vendor compliance with the Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) and ensuring registration in the System for Award Management (SAM).
- Maintaining accurate records of all prosthetic expenditures, linking obligations to individual Veterans.
- Providing essential patient care and support services, acting as the main contact for external customer service inventory inquiries.
- Monitoring and analyzing Prosthetic Consults and prescriptions from various stakeholders.
- Reviewing requests for accuracy and completeness, ensuring proper documentation is provided.
- Ensuring timely completion and closure of consults, following up on pending requests.
- Examining clinical health records to assess eligibility for requested items and services.
- Identifying and confirming eligibility for durable medical equipment (DME) requests based on established criteria.
- Overseeing all procurement actions, safeguarding the Government's interests in all transactions.
- Handling the purchase of specialized equipment or services, addressing challenges such as pricing volatility and supplier availability.
- Reconciling invoices to ensure accurate billing for services rendered, resolving discrepancies with vendors.
- Providing guidance and training to new Purchasing Agents on procurement processes and inventory management.
- Utilizing office automation tools effectively to manage communications and procurement tasks.
- Maintaining accountability for expenditures in both the purchase card and prosthetics inventory program.
- Processing urgent orders as needed, ensuring compliance with established timelines.
Work Schedule:
Full-time availability is required, with specific days outlined by the operational needs.
Conditions of Employment:
Applicants must be U.S. Citizens. Registration with Selective Service is mandatory for males born after 12/31/1959. A probationary period may be required, and selected candidates will undergo a background/security investigation.
Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess specialized experience or education as outlined in the detailed job requirements.
Physical Requirements:
This role primarily involves sedentary work, with occasional physical activity required for inventory management.
