Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Specialist to join our team at Banfield Pet Hospital. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of our HVAC systems, providing preventive maintenance, and performing repairs as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide design, preventive maintenance, and repairs to ensure HVAC systems are 100% functional at our stand-alone and acquisition locations.
  • Assess, troubleshoot, and resolve HVAC issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Collaborate with mechanical design engineers to identify and implement solutions for deficiencies in existing design/equipment.
  • Interpret lease repair language and ensure compliance with lease timing obligations.
  • Interview, negotiate, and procure contractors for repairs and preventive maintenance services.
  • Manage outside vendors and ensure completion of assigned repairs and projects.
  • Utilize building management systems to remotely diagnose and resolve refrigeration system and control malfunctions.
  • Perform market tours to assess facility conditions and vendor quality control.
  • Communicate regularly with Field Leadership and associates regarding status of repairs and project completions.
  • Manage long-term capital asset plans and perform equipment replacements based on plan.
  • Approve, track, and report all expenditures for existing standalone hospital facility repair and capital projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC technician, Operating Engineer, Facilities, or Construction.
  • Five years of HVAC technician experience with mechanical and operating engineering and facilities construction in a multi-unit environment.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in electrical, plumbing, casework, and general building construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints.
