POSITION OVERVIEW

The role involves the upkeep and repair of hotel facilities and grounds through various maintenance tasks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

  • Cleaning internal areas of the hotel, including storage and mechanical rooms, parking areas, public spaces, banquet facilities, and guest accommodations through activities such as buffing, dusting, sweeping, mopping, window washing, and trash management.
  • Performing maintenance and repairs on plumbing and electrical systems, including the replacement of worn or defective components like switches, fuses, faucets, and valves.
  • Replacing damaged parts in equipment and machinery, including vehicles and cleaning devices.
  • Monitoring and adjusting hotel swimming pools to ensure proper sanitation and chemical balance.
  • Maintaining outdoor areas by mowing lawns, trimming weeds, and planting flowers.
  • Repairing parking lots and walkways using asphalt and concrete materials.
  • Operating snow removal equipment to keep parking areas and walkways clear.
  • Repairing, painting, or replacing interior walls and structural elements.
  • Assisting other departments with moving furniture and managing supplies.
  • Providing a warm welcome to guests and addressing maintenance issues promptly to enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure timely responses to guest service requests.
  • Contributing to the security of the property, including tools, equipment, and guest safety.
  • Utilizing materials and tools safely to minimize waste and prevent accidents.
  • Participating in safety and preventative maintenance programs to maintain a secure work environment.
  • Assisting with the setup and cleanup of banquet and meeting spaces as required.
  • Running errands and driving as needed to support business operations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. All employees must adhere to safety protocols to prevent injuries.

While performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands for handling and typing. Frequent reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and lifting are also required. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
