We are currently seeking a proactive and self-motivated Facilities Operations Technician to ensure the seamless operation of equipment and building systems within our production facility. The ideal candidate will possess experience in diagnosing and resolving issues related to heavy machinery and facility systems.

Position Purpose: This role is essential for monitoring, maintaining, and repairing equipment within the facility to guarantee safe and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Address maintenance service requests promptly and with a positive demeanor.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot critical equipment repairs, including electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, utilizing specialized hand and power tools.
  • Implement permanent corrective measures for recurring mechanical issues.
  • Conduct repairs, preventative maintenance, and general upkeep on various equipment such as overhead cranes, pressure washers, saws, power tools, mixers, flat conveyors, and bucket elevators.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building structures and systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and boilers, to identify malfunctions and prevent deterioration.
  • Ensure proper testing is completed after returning systems or equipment to operation and maintain cleanliness in work areas.
  • Operate machinery, including overhead cranes and forklifts.
  • Drive trucks, trailers, or tractors within the facility.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas, including tool storage and debris removal.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Hands-on experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting heavy equipment and building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and boilers.
  • Ability to obtain certification in AWS D1.1 & D1.4.
  • Familiarity with electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Knowledge of fabrication techniques, including stick welding.
  • Experience in small engine repair.
  • Capability to operate various equipment, including overhead cranes and forklifts.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagnostic manuals, and operator's manuals.
  • Willingness to work outdoors as needed.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Education and Experience

  • Associate's degree in industrial maintenance or electromechanics is preferred.
  • Journeyman electrician or Millwright trade certification is a plus.
  • Boiler repair certification is advantageous.

Working Conditions

  • Moderate to high risk of exposure to unusual elements.
  • Moderate to high risk of safety hazards.
  • Moderate to high exposure to a production environment.
