We are currently seeking a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Technician who will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance of our production plant and office facilities. This position is vital for maintaining the functionality of equipment and building systems.
Position Purpose: The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee, maintain, and repair facility equipment to guarantee safe and efficient operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests, demonstrating a proactive and positive approach.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot critical equipment repairs, including electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, utilizing specialized tools.
- Implement permanent solutions for recurring mechanical issues.
- Conduct repairs and preventative maintenance on various equipment such as overhead cranes, pressure washers, saws, and mixers.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry, to identify malfunctions and prevent deterioration.
- Ensure thorough testing is completed after repairs and maintain cleanliness in work areas.
- Operate machinery, including overhead cranes and forklifts, as needed.
- Conduct area cleanup and organization of tools and equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Hands-on experience in diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment and building systems, particularly in electrical and plumbing.
- Ability to achieve certification in AWS D1.1 & D1.4.
- Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Familiarity with fabrication techniques and small engine repair.
- Capability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
- Associate's degree in industrial maintenance or electro mechanics is advantageous.
- Journeyman electrician or Millwright certification is a plus.
- Boiler repair certification is beneficial.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position may involve exposure to various elements and requires adherence to safety protocols in a production environment.
