POSITION OVERVIEW

The role involves maintaining and repairing the physical structures of hotel facilities and managing the grounds through various tasks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

  • Cleaning internal areas of hotel facilities, including storage rooms, parking areas, public spaces, banquet rooms, and guest accommodations, through activities such as buffing, dusting, sweeping, mopping, window washing, and trash disposal.
  • Maintaining and repairing plumbing and electrical systems within the buildings, including replacing worn or defective components like switches, fuses, faucets, and valves.
  • Replacing damaged parts in machinery and equipment, including vehicles and cleaning devices.
  • Monitoring swimming pool conditions and making necessary adjustments to ensure proper sanitation and chemical balance.
  • Landscaping duties including mowing grass, trimming weeds, and planting flowers.
  • Repairing surfaces of parking lots and walkways using asphalt and concrete materials.
  • Operating snow removal machinery to keep parking lots and walkways clear.
  • Repairing, painting, or replacing interior walls and structural elements.
  • Assisting other departments with moving furniture and managing supplies.
  • Providing friendly service to guests and promptly addressing maintenance issues to enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure quick responses to service requests.
  • Contributing to the security of the property, including safeguarding tools, equipment, and guest belongings.
  • Utilizing materials and tools safely to prevent waste and accidents.
  • Participating in safety and preventative maintenance programs to maintain a hazard-free environment.
  • Assisting with the setup and cleanup of banquet and meeting spaces as needed.
  • Performing errands and driving as required to support business operations.

This includes compliance with dress code, safety standards, and performance expectations. Employees are expected to maintain a professional appearance and punctuality.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. All employees must adhere to safety protocols to prevent injuries.

While performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands for various tasks. The employee frequently needs to reach with hands and arms, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, or twist, and must be able to push, pull, or lift over 10 pounds. Occasionally, the employee may need to sit. The ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds is required at times. Specific vision abilities necessary for this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to electrical hazards and works with moving mechanical parts and power tools. Occasional exposure to high places, fumes, outside weather conditions, and various driving conditions may occur. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.

CRISIS MANAGEMENT: The ability to handle crises effectively and calmly is required, including situations involving upset guests, emergencies, and other critical incidents.
