Position Overview

The County of El Dorado is seeking a dedicated Bilingual Victim Support Specialist I/II to join our Victim Witness Assistance program. This role is essential in providing crucial support to individuals affected by crime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist crime victims by accompanying them to various court proceedings.
  • Review and process a variety of documents pertinent to cases, including crime reports and medical records.
  • Act as a liaison between victims and internal staff as well as external agencies, ensuring effective coordination of services.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to case management.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including data entry and managing communication with clients.
  • Stay informed about relevant laws and policies to ensure compliance and effective case management.
  • Foster positive relationships with community organizations and agencies.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess strong bilingual skills in Spanish and English, along with experience in case management and crisis intervention. Experience working with diverse populations, particularly children and families, is highly valued.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the necessary knowledge and skills for this role. A background in psychology, sociology, or criminal justice is preferred.
