Position Title: Regional Services Coordinator (RSC), Columbus, GA - Region 6
Pay Grade: O
Position Summary: Under the general oversight of the Director of Field Operations for Developmental Disabilities, the Regional Services Coordinator (RSC) is responsible for leading a team of specialists focused on connecting individuals with developmental disabilities to tailored, community-based resources and services. The RSC ensures the quality of services provided by monitoring the network of service providers and confirming they have the necessary resources to effectively support individuals. The RSC is attuned to the evolving needs of the communities within the region, communicates emerging issues and trends to the Division of Developmental Disabilities leadership, and represents GeorgiaGov in various regional and state settings.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manages the regional framework for authorizing and accessing state and Medicaid waiver-funded developmental disability services.
· Guides regional office staff in delivering exceptional customer service.
· Evaluates the performance of direct reports and maintains an understanding of overall team effectiveness.
· Addresses customer service challenges, crises, and concerns from community partners; escalates matters to the Director of Field Operations or relevant state office personnel as needed.
· Fosters strong collaborative relationships with other offices within the Division of Developmental Disabilities.
· Regularly communicates with the Regional Nurse Manager and Regional Behavior Analyst to enhance support for individuals and providers.
· Aids in the formulation of consistent statewide procedures and supervises regional teams to ensure uniformity.
· Represents GeorgiaGov and the Division of Developmental Disabilities in meetings and collaborations with local and state agencies, providers, and national accrediting organizations.
· Cultivates and maintains positive relationships with community hospitals, law enforcement, and social service organizations.
· Assesses the quality and sufficiency of the developmental disability provider network in the region, identifies service gaps, and works to broaden options for individuals.
· Supports provider adherence to standards for community developmental disability services and all requirements of the New Options and/or Comprehensive Waiver.
· Oversees regional developmental disability provider contracts.
· Collaborates consistently with the Behavioral Health Regional Services Coordinator on services for individuals and regional operational matters.
· Assists the Regional Advisory Council in developing the annual regional plan.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Entry Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and three years of management experience in a healthcare services setting OR Master's degree in a related field and two years of management experience in a healthcare services setting OR Doctorate degree in a related field and one year of management experience in a healthcare services setting OR two years at a lower level or equivalent position.
Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the qualifications above, preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated knowledge and experience in the following:
· Master's degree from an accredited institution in behavioral sciences or a related field; at least five years in IDD services; five years managing the performance of others in behavioral health/developmental disabilities services. Experience in leading diverse teams, managing change with minimal disruption to service delivery, and providing outstanding customer service.
· Management, planning, and design of effective community-based waiver programs for individuals with developmental disabilities.
· Contract development, negotiation, monitoring, and compliance.
· Strong skills in budget development and management; consultation; resource allocation; and strategic/operational planning.
· Excellent communication abilities.
