Job Summary:

The Pension Benefits Administrator is responsible for executing technical and administrative functions related to the assessment and validation of retirement benefit inquiries and applications, ensuring compliance with company policies, regulatory standards, and plan specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
- Process retirement benefit applications, ensuring the accuracy of submitted information, and conduct thorough investigations into past service records, associated credits, and insurance deductions.
- Address inquiries from participants, beneficiaries, and union representatives concerning retirement benefits.
- Assess eligibility for benefits and solicit necessary documentation from unions, employers, and the Social Security Administration to facilitate efficient processing.
- Draft and send correspondence to participants, beneficiaries, employers, and other stakeholders regarding account details, retirement benefit history, and monthly benefit distributions.

- Perform data entry and make necessary corrections to maintain accurate member information.
- Update retirement data within relevant information systems.
- Assist with special projects as directed by management.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least six months of experience in a professional setting.
- Strong commitment to integrity and customer satisfaction.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents, technical procedures, benefit plans, and regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid understanding of discretion in handling sensitive information.
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages.
- Competency in using MS Office tools and applications.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, depending on location needs.
- Previous experience in retirement plan administration.

Working Conditions:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and utilizing a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
