Job Overview

Horizon Services is seeking a skilled Sr. Payroll Practitioner to join our team at our corporate headquarters in Newark, DE.


The successful candidate will be responsible for processing weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payrolls for several HVAC/Plumbing companies across the US, including salary, hourly, commission, and piecework. Additionally, they will manage complicated pay exceptions, bonus and incentive payments, retroactive pay, and overpayments.


The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail, as well as the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Process payrolls for multiple companies
  • Manage pay exceptions and bonuses
  • Assist with audits and reconciliation
  • Track and analyze data
  • Prepare special reports for management
  • Process garnishments and levies

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive employee information
