Job Title: Vice President of Human Resources

Location: Pembroke, MA (on-site)

Position Overview:

The Vice President of Human Resources plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing the Human Resources strategy at Massachusetts Nonprofit Network. This position is tasked with the formulation, execution, and oversight of HR policies, programs, and practices that align with the organization's mission. Key responsibilities include managing recruitment and retention initiatives, enhancing employee relations, overseeing compensation and benefits, and ensuring compliance with applicable labor laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:

  • Drive the performance and effectiveness of the HR team in alignment with the organization's vision and objectives.
  • Guide the team in formulating and executing long-term strategic goals and annual operational plans.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to direct reports, ensuring effective delegation and oversight of policy and program modifications.
  • Manage the HR department budget and ensure its alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Collaborate with organizational leadership to advocate for HR strategies and initiatives.
  • Encourage a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, emphasizing learning and quality.
  • Actively participate as a member of the Executive Team.
Talent Acquisition and Retention:
  • Lead the Talent Acquisition efforts to attract and hire a skilled workforce, fostering collaboration with division leaders.
  • Work with leadership to create engagement and retention strategies informed by employee feedback.
  • Design and implement comprehensive recruitment and retention systems, coordinating with department heads on personnel needs.
  • Oversee compensation administration, including performance management and benefits evaluation.
  • Ensure competitive compensation and benefits offerings, collaborating with division leaders to prioritize employee satisfaction.
Employee Relations:
  • Provide expert guidance on employee relations matters, supporting managers in addressing workplace issues.
  • Represent the organization in unemployment and workers' compensation hearings, ensuring policy interpretation is clear and effective.
  • Facilitate the communication of HR policies and programs to all staff members.
Training and Development:
  • Oversee the development and implementation of the new hire orientation program, ensuring alignment with organizational needs.
  • Monitor and track training initiatives, including mandatory annual training and new hire orientation.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field, with 7-10 years of progressive experience in a senior HR role.
  • Strong proficiency in HR technology systems and applications.
  • Demonstrated success in facilitating organizational change and a commitment to the mission of Massachusetts Nonprofit Network.
