The Vice President of Human Resources plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing the Human Resources strategy for Massachusetts Nonprofit Network. Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:

  • Drive and ensure the effectiveness of the HR team in alignment with the organization's mission and vision.
  • Guide a team in developing and implementing strategic objectives and annual operational plans.
  • Mentor and support direct reports, effectively delegating tasks and reviewing policy changes as necessary. Stay informed on significant HR trends and legislative developments.
  • Formulate and manage the departmental budget.
  • Collaborate with leadership to advocate for HR strategies and initiatives throughout the organization.
  • Encourage cross-departmental collaboration and focus on results-driven outcomes.
  • Instill a culture of accountability and continuous improvement that prioritizes learning and quality.
  • Actively participate as a member of the Executive Team.
Talent Acquisition and Retention:
  • Lead the Talent Acquisition efforts to attract and onboard a skilled workforce, collaborating with division leaders to promote teamwork.
  • Work with leadership and staff to create engagement and retention strategies, utilizing employee feedback as a benchmark.
  • Design and implement comprehensive recruitment and retention programs, coordinating staffing needs with department heads.
  • Oversee compensation administration, including performance management and benefits, ensuring competitiveness with industry standards.
  • Continuously evaluate compensation and benefits packages to prioritize employee satisfaction.
Employee Relations:
  • Provide guidance on employee relations matters, serving as a resource for managers addressing workplace issues.
  • Represent the organization in unemployment and workers' compensation hearings, addressing policy interpretation and application.
  • Ensure effective communication of HR policies and procedures to all staff members.
Training and Development:
  • Oversee the design and implementation of orientation training programs for new hires, ensuring alignment with organizational needs.
  • Monitor and track all training initiatives, including annual and orientation-related training.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field, with 7-10 years of progressive experience in a senior HR role.
  • Strong proficiency in HR technology systems and applications.
  • Demonstrated success in facilitating organizational change and a commitment to the mission of Massachusetts Nonprofit Network.
