Position Summary: The Mortgage Loan Originator II is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while promoting the bank's products and services. This role involves maintaining strong relationships with current clients, past clients, and referral partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize strong interpersonal and communication skills to generate referral business and leads.
  • Conduct outside sales calls to various entities, including real estate companies, builders, and relocation firms.
  • Engage with prospective borrowers to review and analyze their credit and financial information, identifying their financing objectives and goals.
  • Present suitable products, programs, and necessary disclosures to clients.
  • Gather required loan documentation and compile a complete loan package for the operations team.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to ensure all loan conditions and closing dates are met.
  • Negotiate loan terms and conditions with customers.
  • Maintain compliance documentation as required.
  • Stay informed about trends in the local real estate market and changes in mortgage regulations.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in mortgage lending functions.
  • Strong customer service experience.
  • Some sales experience, preferably in the mortgage sector.
  • High school diploma or GED required; NMLS registration or the ability to obtain it is necessary.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proficient in mortgage software systems.
  • Understanding of FHA, FNMA, FHLMC, VA, and Rural Development guidelines.
  • Knowledge of compliance with RESPA and MDIA regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and capable of prioritizing tasks effectively.

Working Conditions: This position is primarily office-based within a climate-controlled environment, involving frequent interaction with customers and the use of office equipment. Some travel may be required for meetings or events. Regular attendance and the ability to work extended hours during peak business periods are essential.
