Mortgage Loan Processor Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Mortgage Loan Processor to join our team at First United Bank and Trust. As a Mortgage Loan Processor, you will be responsible for processing mortgage loans generated by our bank employees, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring timely handling of all loan files.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process mortgage loans from various locations and Mortgage Consultants
  • Provide exceptional customer service to borrowers and internal customers
  • Check reports and follow up on assigned loans
  • Ensure timely handling of all loan files
  • Work within service levels on all loans
  • Review and evaluate documentation for completeness and communicate with customers regarding loan status and additional required documentation
  • Work with loan officers, borrowers, and closers to provide updates, address issues with loan files, and ensure a smooth closing
  • Submit completed loan files for underwriting approval
  • Use conversation logs or memo sections to accurately note progress of files
  • Understand and adhere to mandatory compliance guidelines and attend training as required

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform other duties as requested by Executive Management or Supervisor
  • Complete required compliance exams on a yearly basis
  • Adhere to all First United Bank and Trust policies and procedures
  • Dress professionally
  • Recommend methods to improve the department

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Some secondary education preferred
  • Mortgage banking experience preferred

Technical Competencies:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent phone etiquette
  • Ability to multi-task

Working Conditions:

  • Normal office environment
