Position Summary:
The role involves delivering exceptional customer service and promoting banking products and services while nurturing relationships with existing clients, former clients, and referral partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills to cultivate referral business and generate leads.
  • Engage in outside sales activities, including outreach to real estate firms, builders, relocation agencies, and the general public.
  • Conduct meetings with potential borrowers to assess and analyze their credit and financial information, identify their financing objectives, and present suitable products and programs.
  • Gather necessary loan documentation and compile a comprehensive loan package for the operations team, ensuring all conditions and deadlines are met.
  • Negotiate loan terms and conditions with clients.
  • Maintain organized files for compliance purposes.
  • Stay informed about trends in the local real estate market and any changes in mortgage regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in mortgage lending.
  • Strong customer service and sales experience, preferably in the mortgage sector.

Education and Certifications:
A high school diploma or GED is required. NMLS registration or the ability to obtain it is also necessary.

Skills and Knowledge:
Proficiency in mortgage software systems and familiarity with FHA, FNMA, FHLMC, VA, and Rural Development guidelines. Understanding of compliance with RESPA and MDIA regulations is essential. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, along with the ability to maintain confidentiality and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions:
This position is primarily office-based in a climate-controlled environment with high traffic during peak times. It involves frequent use of telephones, computers, and other office equipment, along with substantial face-to-face interaction with clients. Some travel may be required for meetings or events.
