Job Description

This is a temporary, part-time position that averages 6 hours per week. The schedule will be flexible to accommodate student school and extracurricular activities.

About the Role

The Youth Liaison will serve as a student representative for their local community in Crook County. They will bring teen perspective to prevention and health promotion efforts by participating in trainings with Health Department staff, peers, and community members.

Responsibilities
  • Develop a plan to prevent youth substance use and improve overall health in partnership with Youth Leaders and Adult Champions.
  • Implement presentations to community leaders, students, and the public.
Requirements

To be eligible, candidates must:

  • Be a current high school student with completion of 9th grade.
  • Have experience working as part of a group or team to accomplish a shared goal.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates who possess the following qualifications are highly preferred:

  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher.
  • Completed coursework or training related to health.
  • 1 year experience working as part of a group or team to accomplish a shared goal.
  • Experience as a SADD member.
Additional Requirements

Candidates must have:

  • Reliable transportation with a driver's license preferred or ability to obtain within three months of hire.
  • Able to complete a thorough employment and/or criminal history check.
Estimated Salary

$12-15 per hour (based on industry standards in Crook County) would result in an estimated annual salary of $24,960 - $31,200 per year.
