Information Systems Security Officer - Hybrid

Salary:

Qmerit, a leader in the green energy sector, focuses on facilitating the adoption of electrification solutions for residential and small business markets. The company is dedicated to providing value-driven services throughout the renewable energy equipment implementation lifecycle.

Through a nationwide network of certified contractors and service providers, Qmerit ensures a high-quality experience for customers installing electric vehicle ("EV") charging stations and integrating with battery storage, solar systems, emergency power, and microgrid solutions.

JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a skilled and committed Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to enhance our team.

The ideal candidate should possess at least 5 years of relevant experience and a strong grasp of governance, risk management, compliance (GRC), SOC2, vulnerability management, incident response, and security in Microsoft Azure.


RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develop, implement, and uphold security policies, standards, and procedures that align with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
2. Conduct regular risk and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate potential security threats.
3. Oversee the SOC2 compliance process, ensuring effective implementation and maintenance of all security controls.
4. Lead incident response efforts, encompassing detection, analysis, containment, eradication, and recovery.
5. Collaborate with various teams to integrate security measures into all facets of the organization’s IT infrastructure and DevSecOps.
6. Provide expert guidance on Microsoft Azure security, ensuring that cloud-based systems are secure and compliant.
7. Maintain and co-manage security awareness training for employees to foster a culture of security within the organization.

8. Stay informed about the latest security trends, threats, and technological solutions to ensure a robust security posture.


Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.

- A minimum of 5 years of experience in information security, focusing on governance, risk, compliance, SOC2, vulnerability management, incident response, and Microsoft Azure security.

- Strong knowledge of information security principles, frameworks, and best practices.
- Proficiency with risk management tools and methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are preferred.

Preferred Skills:
- Experience with security tools and technologies, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and DLP.
- Familiarity with compliance standards such as SOC2, PCI-DSS, and NIST.
- Experience in cloud environments, particularly with Microsoft Azure.

- Ability to translate security controls into practical implementations at various technical levels, coordinating with third-party vendors and managing compliance objectives.


Work Environment:
This is a full-time position. Remote work may be considered for highly qualified candidates.
