Position Summary:This role operates in a hybrid work environment, requiring three days in the office.
The Vice President of Information Security is a pivotal leadership role tasked with defining and executing the organization’s vision, strategy, and program to safeguard information assets and systems. This executive will collaborate with senior management to establish acceptable risk levels and ensure that information security serves as both a business facilitator and protector.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement a comprehensive, forward-thinking information security strategy that aligns with business goals and adheres to industry best practices.
- Lead the information security team, focusing on the effectiveness of security measures, continuous improvement, and fostering proactive partnerships across all business units.
- Work alongside executive leadership, IT departments, and other stakeholders to identify security vulnerabilities and formulate effective mitigation strategies.
- Establish and advocate for information security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Stay informed about emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends to continuously enhance the organization’s security posture.
- Manage security incidents, including containment, communication, coordination across relevant business units, executive updates, recovery, and closure.
- Conduct regular security assessments to identify gaps and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and customer requirements.
- Provide consistent updates and reports to executive leadership and the board regarding the status of information security initiatives and compliance efforts.
- Promote a culture of security awareness and accountability throughout the organization via training, communication, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Build, inspire, and mentor a high-performing team of security professionals, encouraging professional development and skill enhancement.
- Proven experience as an Information Security executive leader in a significant enterprise, ideally within high-tech or manufacturing sectors with global operations.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including the capacity to convey security and risk-related concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated success in engaging with senior executive leaders and company boards.
- Ability to maintain composure and act decisively in high-pressure situations.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in building and leading high-performing teams in dynamic environments.
- In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, frameworks, and best practices, including familiarity with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), ISO 27001, and relevant privacy laws across global jurisdictions.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
