Job Overview

The Patient Access Manager is responsible for leading daily patient access operations, overseeing medical records management, and directing dietary functions in collaboration with the registered dietician.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain compliance with EMTALA, DNV, HIPAA, and other hospital and government regulations.
  • Effectively manage and direct registration operations to ensure quality, productivity, and excellent customer service.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of daily registrations.
  • Compile, analyze, and report data for Patient Access quality measures.
  • Collect payments and reconcile cash drawers.
  • Prepare weekly deposits and payroll.
  • Communicate effectively with the registered dietician and oversee patient nutrition services.
  • Ensure quality assurance of medical records and share lessons learned with the team.
  • Interview, hire, train, evaluate, and counsel patient access team members.
  • Provide continuous training and communicate changes to existing employees.
  • Ensure adherence to personnel policies.
  • Collaborate with regional and corporate partners on special projects.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Four-year degree in business or healthcare preferred.
  • Minimum five years patient registration and insurance verification experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Two years supervisory experience in a healthcare setting required.
  • Emergency Department registration experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of various insurance plans and payors.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge or previous experience using EMR.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office.
