Patient Access Coordinator

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Representative to join our team at CHRISTUS Health. As a Patient Access Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate a warm and welcoming environment for patients and families, while also ensuring accurate and timely data entry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and families, addressing their concerns and needs in a professional and empathetic manner.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry, including demographic and financial information, to maintain compliance with Federal regulations and hospital standards.
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for services, while also managing collections for patient portions, including prior balances.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, nurses, insurance companies, and third-party payers to ensure seamless coordination of care.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure the successful financial outcome of all patient services.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One year of experience in Patient Access, hospital registration, medical office, billing/collection functions, or a comparable customer service-related position preferred.
