Reports To: Store Operations Manager

Exemption Status: Non-Exempt

Starting Pay: $21.25

Job Summary:

This role involves engaging with all community members, requiring exceptional listening abilities and a commitment to ensuring that everyone feels acknowledged and valued. This may involve navigating challenging discussions in a professional and thoughtful manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a secure and safe shopping environment by addressing concerns that affect the safety of customers and staff.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service while fostering a positive and collaborative team atmosphere.
  • Engage customers warmly, providing product information and assisting them in locating items throughout the store.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction and exceed expectations.
  • Demonstrate effective time management and adaptability to changing priorities and circumstances.
  • Embody company values, working cooperatively with team members, customers, and vendors to create a respectful workplace.
  • Provide and receive constructive feedback, promoting a culture of open communication.
  • Conserve company resources and adhere to safety policies established by the organization and regulatory agencies.
  • Assist in maintaining store cleanliness and inform management of any issues.

Position Duties:

  • Collaborate with store operations and leadership to identify and address safety and security issues.
  • Act as a deterrent to theft while leaving apprehension duties to authorized personnel.
  • Monitor store activities to ensure a safe environment free from theft or other hazards.
  • Assist customers with product selection and share knowledge to enhance their shopping experience.
  • Manage product stocking, rotation, and quality control, adhering to company policies.
  • Maintain awareness of current promotions and events to better serve customers.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in customer service, retail, or grocery sectors is preferred.
  • Experience in security or safety-related fields is highly desirable.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make effective decisions under pressure.
  • Physical requirements include standing and walking for extended periods, lifting, and the ability to navigate various store environments.
