Position Summary:
We are in search of a dedicated and empathetic Community Living Area Relief Support Specialist to enhance our vibrant team. This role is crucial in delivering vital assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) across multiple sites within our service region. Your flexibility and dedication will guarantee that our clients receive consistent and high-quality support.
Core Responsibilities:
- Travel to various residences within the community to provide direct care and assistance to individuals with IDD.
- Assist clients with daily living tasks, including personal hygiene, mobility, and overall personal care.
- Encourage skill development activities to promote independence and personal growth.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of daily activities, care rendered, and any notable incidents or observations.
- Collaborate effectively with fellow support professionals, supervisors, and team members to ensure comprehensive care.
- Adhere to Individual Support Plans (ISPs) to improve the quality of life for those served.
- Exhibit a proactive approach to fulfilling urgent staffing needs and supporting team objectives.
- Be available for mandatory overtime, up to 48 hours, to address urgent requirements.
- Prioritize the safety and well-being of the individuals in your care.
Required Qualifications:
- Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Previous experience in a similar capacity or working with individuals with IDD.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and a caring demeanor.
- Capability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting and transferring clients.
