About the Role

The City of New York is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Section Chief of Lifecycle Management within the Bureau of Wastewater Treatment (BWT). This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of lifecycle management principles and practices, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive lifecycle management plans for standalone facilities, consolidated groups of facilities, and wastewater process areas.
  • Lead a team of professionals in the development of business cases for planning, design, and construction contracts, ensuring that they are aligned with the City's capital plan and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to identify and prioritize lifecycle management needs, and develop strategies to address them.
  • Develop and maintain a Lifecycle Analysis Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to support the development of project business cases.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to staff on lifecycle management principles and practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in lifecycle management, and apply this knowledge to improve the City's lifecycle management processes.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have a master's degree in a relevant field, such as physical, biological, or environmental science, or public health. You must also have at least two years of experience in a responsible supervisory, administrative, or research capacity in a relevant field. Certification in project management, lean six sigma, or other relevant areas is highly desirable.
