Position Overview

New Day, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Program Manager to oversee operations within our Therapeutic Group Homes. This role entails managing the daily functions of a group home designed for female youth aged 9 to 17 who face mental health and behavioral challenges. In accordance with State Regulations, the ideal candidate must be Female.

This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week. The scheduled hours are from 12pm to 8pm, Friday through Tuesday, with Wednesdays and Thursdays designated as off days. Flexibility is essential due to the nature of the role, which includes one week of on-call responsibilities each month.

REPORTING TO: Residential Team Lead

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Program Manager is tasked with ensuring the smooth operation of the therapeutic youth group home(s), maintaining a secure and supportive environment for residents, and aligning program activities with the organization's mission. This position involves supervising staff, collaborating with clinical teams, and providing necessary therapeutic interventions.

  • Ensure a safe, secure, and organized environment within the assigned lodge.
  • Prepare and manage all weekly and monthly reports in collaboration with the Lead Clinical, including initial assessments and interim reports as required.
  • Provide transportation for residents to medical appointments when necessary.
  • Guarantee the availability of adequate facilities, equipment, supplies, and resources for program operations in partnership with the Lead Youth Empowerment Specialist.
  • Work closely with the Residential Team Lead and Lead Clinical Staff to facilitate effective communication between the placing agency's treatment team and New Day's treatment team, ensuring all documentation is included in the clinical record.
  • Manage the confidential transfer of clinical records and provide necessary documentation to external agencies.
  • Train Youth Empowerment Specialists, ensuring their participation in all company training and overseeing their professional development.
  • Conduct therapeutic interventions with residents under the guidance of lead clinical staff, ensuring a minimum of 75 minutes of engagement per youth weekly.
  • Document participant progress objectively using DAP format.
  • Organize and plan weekend activities with the approval of the Residential Team Lead.
  • Facilitate weekly treatment team meetings to discuss youth needs within the treatment environment.
  • Monitor participant medication counts and ensure compliance with medication policies.
  • Fulfill on-call duties during assigned weeks.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for Youth Empowerment Specialists assigned to the lodge.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor and New Day, Inc. administration.

SUPERVISORY ROLE: Under the direction of the Residential Team Lead, directly supervise Youth Empowerment Specialists and manage the daily operations of the unit, adhering to organizational policies and legal requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS: Proficiency in word processing and computer applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Email, and mobile applications. Strong leadership and training capabilities are essential, along with the ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate diplomacy.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A Bachelor's degree in a human service field or a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience is required for candidates without a degree. Experience with emotionally disturbed and chemically dependent populations is preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents. Proficient in responding to sensitive inquiries and writing reports and correspondence. Capable of effectively presenting information and addressing questions from individuals and groups.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Competence in basic arithmetic operations and the ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages, as well as interpret graphical data.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

CERTIFICATIONS: Must maintain current certifications in Non-violent crisis intervention, CPR, and First Aid. A valid driver's license with an insurable driving record is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands outlined here represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. Regularly required to talk or hear; stand; walk; and sit. Occasionally required to use hands or fingers, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision. This position may involve the use of safe, non-injurious physical interventions as per CPI training.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The characteristics of the work environment described here are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this role. The noise level is typically moderate, and this is a non-smoking environment.
