Position Overview

New Day, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Program Manager to oversee our Therapeutic Group Homes. This role entails managing the daily functions of a lodge accommodating six to eight female youth, aged 9 to 17, who face mental health and behavioral challenges. In compliance with State Regulations, the ideal candidate must be female.

This is a full-time position, requiring 40 hours per week. The scheduled shift is from 12pm to 8pm, Friday through Tuesday, with Wednesdays and Thursdays designated as days off. Flexibility is essential due to the nature of our services, and on-call duties will be required for one week each month.

Reporting Structure: This position reports directly to the Residential Team Lead.

Key Responsibilities: The Program Manager is accountable for the effective management of the therapeutic youth group home(s), ensuring a secure and supportive environment for all participants while aligning program activities with the organization's mission and goals. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring a safe, secure, and organized environment within the assigned lodge.
  • Preparing and submitting weekly and monthly reports in collaboration with the Lead Clinical staff, including initial assessments and interim reports as necessary.
  • Providing transportation for participants to medical appointments when required.
  • Coordinating with the Lead Youth Empowerment Specialist to ensure the availability of necessary facilities, equipment, and resources for program operations.
  • Collaborating with the Residential Team Lead and Lead Clinical Staff to facilitate effective communication between the placing agency's treatment team and New Day's treatment team, ensuring all documentation is included in the clinical record.
  • Managing the confidential transfer of clinical records to appropriate external agencies.
  • Training Youth Empowerment Specialists, ensuring their participation in all training programs and supporting their professional development.
  • Conducting therapeutic interventions with residents under the guidance of lead clinical staff, with a minimum of 75 minutes of interaction per youth each week.
  • Documenting participant progress using the DAP format.
  • Planning and organizing weekend activities with approval from the Residential Team Lead.
  • Facilitating weekly treatment team meetings to discuss youth needs and progress.
  • Monitoring medication counts and ensuring compliance with medication policies.
  • Assuming on-call responsibilities during scheduled weeks.
  • Conducting performance evaluations for lodge-assigned Youth Empowerment Specialists.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor and New Day, Inc. administration.

Supervisory Duties: Under the guidance of the Residential Team Lead, the Program Manager will directly supervise Youth Empowerment Specialists and oversee the daily operations of the unit, adhering to organizational policies and applicable laws.

Qualifications: Candidates should possess familiarity with word processing and computer applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Email. Strong managerial and training capabilities are essential, along with the ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate diplomacy.

Education and Experience: A Bachelor's degree in a human service field is preferred, or a minimum of six years of relevant experience in human services for candidates without a degree. Experience with emotionally disturbed and chemically dependent populations is advantageous.

Language Proficiency: Candidates must be able to read, analyze, and interpret documents effectively, respond to sensitive inquiries, and write comprehensive reports.

Mathematical Skills: Proficiency in basic mathematical operations and the ability to interpret data is required.

Reasoning Skills: The ability to identify problems, gather data, and draw valid conclusions is essential.

Certifications: Candidates must maintain current certifications in Non-violent Crisis Intervention, CPR, and First Aid, and possess a valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.

Physical Requirements: The physical demands of this role include regular communication, standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision.

Work Environment: The work environment is typically moderate in noise level and is a non-smoking facility.
