Position Summary:

The electric supply industry is currently experiencing a significant shift from traditional thermal resources to renewable energy and storage solutions, driven by regulatory, policy, and economic factors. This transition is reshaping market dynamics and necessitating innovative analyses to evaluate energy infrastructure investments and their value. Our experts are leading the way in modeling and analyzing the ongoing evolution of the power sector, assisting clients in identifying investment risks and opportunities.

We are seeking a consultant based in Denver with expertise in energy analytics, quantitative analysis, and foundational knowledge to support our efforts in guiding energy investors and utility clients through diverse and evolving investment landscapes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the daily operations of PA's Energy and Utilities team on various projects.
  • Manage multiple tasks within consulting engagements, including financial modeling and client presentations.
  • Apply business, finance, accounting, and analytical skills to create 13-week cash flow models, three-statement models, and pro-forma scenario analyses.
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports, written analyses, presentations, and other deliverables for clients.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Accounting/Finance, Management, Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a consulting or professional services setting.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis, particularly in Excel, including the ability to construct and interpret three-statement financial models and cash flow analyses.
  • Capability to manage and analyze substantial volumes of financial and operational data.
  • Ability to derive insights and recommendations from qualitative and quantitative analyses.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to engage with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated maturity, empathy, intellectual curiosity, and a quick learning ability.
  • Capacity to work independently or collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing work demands.
  • Professional certifications such as CFA or CPA, or expertise in technical/GAAP accounting, are advantageous.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Salary Information:
In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay Transparency Act, PA Consulting provides a reasonable salary range for this role, which is specific to the State of Colorado and varies based on experience, market data, applicant skills, and internal equity.
