Job SummaryEnsures guest satisfaction and revenue optimization through check-in, check-out, and attentive coordination of hotel services for the guest. Works to optimize the guest experience while at the hotel and elsewhere.
Responsibilities- Greet guests and complete established check-in procedures.
- Accurately complete shift checklist and stay at front desk post throughout the entire shift.
- Facilitate guest departure (check-out) procedures in order to open the room for the next sell.
- Regularly calculate and/or post monies, receipts, guest accounts, and other forms of credit using accurate, proper cash handling methods and maintain accurate hotel records.
- Courteously answer inquiries and accept reservations, both in person and by telephone, by accurately communicating hotel rates and information and by using suggestive selling techniques to sell room nights, increase occupancy, and revenue.
- Maintain good customer relations by keeping abreast of all departmental functions in order to answer questions and concerns with timely and knowledgeable responses, in person and on telephone.
- Operate the PBX equipment by accepting incoming calls, assisting outgoing calls, scheduling and setting wake-up calls, and to provide guests with timely and efficient service.
- Control cash transactions at the front desk and maintain complete responsibility for personal bank.
- Process all guest mail, messages, and faxes by receiving, sorting, notifying, and distributing to mailboxes and to guests in order to ensure the information is received by the guests in the timeliest and most accurate method possible.
- Contribute and maintain established information and communications sources such as department and front desk log books in order to enhance department communications and operations.
- Understand and ensure that the front desk needs to remain staffed even if the following shift is tardy or late.
- Provide assistance to other team members and departments.
- Ensure safety by following security procedures.
- Responsible for understanding and adhering to guidelines set forth in the team member handbook. Expected to report to work on scheduled days and at scheduled times.
- Observe the 5x10 rule, which is to be complied with at all times. Anticipate and address guests' service needs; assist individuals with disabilities; thank guests with genuine appreciation.
- Perform other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management.
