We are currently looking for a Universal Banker to join our team. This position acts as the Customer Ambassador for Sterling Federal Bank, delivering efficient and high-quality service to our clients. Responsibilities include performing teller and cash vault transactions accurately and promptly, as well as promoting and servicing all banking products and services. Providing operational support and exceptional customer service while adhering to essential controls and safeguards is a key aspect of this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process deposits of checks and cash into savings and checking accounts, ensuring accuracy in amounts and verifying endorsements.
  • Facilitate cashing of checks and disbursement of funds from accounts after confirming signatures and balances.
  • Address and resolve customer inquiries and internal issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Keep customers informed about their account status and suggest improvements or resolutions for account-related matters.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of bank products and services, offering relevant information to enhance customer relationships.
  • Assess the needs of potential clients and recommend suitable financial products and services.
  • Handle bond transactions and assist with IRA account management.
  • Support branch operations as required.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Experience of six months to two years in a similar role is preferred, including time spent in preparatory positions.
  • A high school diploma is mandatory.
  • Exemplary courtesy and tact are essential for this position.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred.
  • Dependability and consistent attendance are crucial.
  • Background and credit checks will be conducted.
Work Schedule:
  • Availability to work Monday through Thursday from 7:45 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Friday hours are from 7:45 AM to 5:30 PM.
  • Saturday hours are from 7:45 AM to 12:30 PM, with a half-day off during the week when a Saturday is scheduled.
  • Average weekly hours will range from 37 to 40.
