Custodial Services Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY
The Custodial Services Specialist is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, including offices, educational spaces, and residential group homes. This role involves a variety of cleaning tasks to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Perform comprehensive cleaning duties, including:
- Dusting, mopping, and vacuuming surfaces
- Washing windows and walls
- Cleaning light fixtures and vents
- Shampooing carpets
- Stripping and waxing floors
2. Execute additional janitorial tasks as assigned, which may include snow removal and other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of two years of prior custodial experience in relevant areas is preferred.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving record acceptable to the Agency's insurer.
- Candidates must be at least 21 years of age.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires working in diverse environments, including outdoor settings under varying weather conditions. Frequent travel within the county is necessary, and the role may involve working independently.
Physical demands include:
- Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally
- Lifting up to 50 pounds frequently
- Moving objects weighing up to 20 pounds constantly
- Engaging in activities such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and performing repetitive motions.
The worker may be exposed to various environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures and noise levels that may require shouting. Additionally, the role may involve proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, and chemicals.
