Job Overview

The Recreational Therapy Specialist is tasked with the design, execution, and oversight of a therapeutic recreation program within the Behavioral Healthcare division.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive activity therapy program that encompasses recreational, occupational, and various creative therapies.
  • Collaborate effectively with nursing staff, ancillary services, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to patient care.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital and departmental standards and objectives.
Position Details

This is a part-time role, requiring 32 hours per pay period. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Recreation Therapy or a related discipline. A minimum of two years of relevant experience is preferred, although candidates with qualifications in Music Therapy or Art Therapy may also be considered.

Qualifications

Applicants must demonstrate the ability to establish therapeutic relationships with patients and manage challenging behaviors effectively. Emotional maturity and insight into patients' emotional and physical challenges are essential. Experience with psychiatric patients is highly desirable.

Compensation

KSB Hospital is committed to transparent pay practices. Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and equity with current team members, with a pay range of $21.20 to $32.45.
