Facility Maintenance Specialist

Position Overview:
The role of the Facility Maintenance Specialist involves a variety of essential tasks aimed at maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across various settings. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Dusting, mopping, and vacuuming of offices and classrooms.
  • Washing windows and walls to ensure a pristine environment.
  • Cleaning light fixtures and ventilation systems.
  • Shampooing carpets and performing floor maintenance such as stripping and waxing.

Additional Responsibilities:
In addition to the primary duties, the role may require:

  • Other janitorial tasks as assigned.
  • Snow removal duties during winter months.
  • Additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:
Preferred candidates will have at least two years of custodial experience in the aforementioned areas. A valid driver's license is required, along with a driving record that meets the standards set by the Agency's insurer. Candidates must be at least 21 years of age.

Physical Requirements:
This position demands the ability to work in diverse environments, including outdoor settings under extreme weather conditions. Frequent travel within the county is necessary, and the ability to work independently is essential. Physical exertion may include:

  • Occasionally lifting up to 100 pounds.
  • Frequently lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Constantly lifting up to 20 pounds.

Employees must be capable of performing various physical activities such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting. The work environment may expose employees to a range of conditions, including noise levels that require shouting to communicate, proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, and chemicals.
