Job Title: Social Service Assistant

At Parents And Children Together, we are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Social Service Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our Voluntary Case Management Program, you will play a vital role in supporting families on Oahu who have been referred by Child Welfare Services.

Job Summary:

The Social Service Assistant will provide outreach services to families, conducting home visits and community-based visits to assess their needs and develop personalized plans to address risk factors and increase protective factors. You will work closely with families to build their skills, provide guidance, and connect them with community resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct home visits and community-based visits to assess family needs and develop personalized plans.
  • Provide guidance and support to families to build their skills and address risk factors.
  • Connect families with community resources and services to meet their needs.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of family interactions and progress.
  • Collaborate with the VCM Case Manager and Program Supervisor to ensure effective program delivery.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, plus one year of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One year of experience working in the area of child abuse and neglect prevention, including domestic violence and substance abuse issues.
  • One year of experience in an administrative or clerical position.
  • Possesses and maintains a valid driver's license and daily access to an automobile.
  • Possesses and maintains proof of no-fault insurance.
  • Can obtain an acceptable criminal background check, CWS background check, and National Sex Offender Registry Check.
