Position Overview:

Astria Therapeutics is committed to delivering transformative therapies to individuals and families impacted by allergic and immunological conditions. Our pipeline features leading-edge programs, including STAR-0215, a monoclonal antibody targeting plasma kallikrein in clinical trials for hereditary angioedema, and STAR-0310, an OX40 monoclonal antibody antagonist in pre-clinical development for atopic dermatitis and other allergic and immunological disorders.

We are in search of a seasoned leader in corporate strategy to contribute to our organizational growth and strategic direction. This role is pivotal in steering the annual strategic planning process in collaboration with the executive leadership team, as well as in identifying and analyzing market trends, strategic opportunities, and industry dynamics, and effectively communicating insights. The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking leader, poised to shape and implement corporate strategies within a patient-focused and collaborative framework.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Development and Communication

  • Direct the annual corporate strategy and planning process in partnership with the executive team, ensuring cross-functional collaboration and input from all areas of the organization.
  • Perform comprehensive analyses of biotechnology trends, market dynamics, and advancements in allergy and immunology, as well as the regulatory landscape, to uncover growth opportunities and unique positioning. Prepare and present briefing materials to communicate findings effectively.
  • Work closely with the executive team and cross-functional leaders to formulate, guide, and implement the corporate strategy.
  • Investigate, assess, and propose strategies and initiatives that align with Astria's corporate objectives.
  • Create and design corporate strategy presentation materials for executive management and Board meetings, articulating complex concepts through clear frameworks to engage diverse audiences.
  • Keep abreast of industry advancements and scientific innovations to refine strategies as necessary.

Strategic Planning and Execution

  • Effectively translate vision and strategy into actionable plans with designated resources and timelines, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and milestones.
  • Lead and manage strategic projects and cross-functional initiatives within the organization. Develop project timelines, milestones, and plans, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure progress and achievement of goals. Monitor project status, identify potential risks, and implement necessary mitigation strategies.
  • Promote a culture centered on patient care, collaboration, innovation, and scientific excellence, advocating for initiatives that enhance the company's success in allergy and immunology.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in a STEM field or finance; PhD or MBA preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors and the drug development process. Experience in biopharma management consulting and startup biotech is highly desirable.
  • Over 10 years of experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical environment.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adept at simplifying complex ideas into accessible frameworks and crafting compelling presentations.
  • Inquisitive, highly organized, proactive, strategic thinker with superior analytical capabilities.
  • Results-oriented with a strong focus on action.
  • Excellent project management expertise.
  • Proven success in developing and executing strategies and managing complex projects.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • High-performing, results-driven individual with a collaborative approach; capable of influencing and building consensus across all organizational levels.
