Position Overview

As a Lead Energy Storage Engineer at ENGIE Distributed Solar and Storage, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our energy storage initiatives and expanding our project portfolio, which currently encompasses over 500 MW of active distributed storage ventures. This position allows you to utilize your strategic and solution-focused approach to effectively engage with our substantial mid-stage development pipeline. You will have the freedom to devise and execute market entry strategies, significantly contributing to a vital strategic component of the DSS division. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and analytical capabilities, along with the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities concurrently while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pipeline Development: Cultivate and oversee a robust pipeline of energy storage projects that deliver value to ENGIE, the distribution network, and our customers.
  • Project Management: Direct all development processes from feasibility assessments to construction, including site control, interconnection, permitting, and commercialization, while coordinating with various project stakeholders.
  • Strategic Development: Formulate go-to-market strategies for distributed energy storage, encompassing policy formulation and advocacy in select regions, while building the business rationale for early-stage project development.
  • Internal Collaboration: Develop internal tools, analytical methods, and investment criteria for distributed storage, collaborating with ENGIE stakeholders to ensure best practices and informed strategies.
  • Global Collaboration: Work alongside ENGIE's international storage development teams to align and contribute to the Group's overarching storage strategy.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in renewable energy and/or energy storage project development or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of power markets, including wholesale markets, renewables, and/or energy storage.
  • Detail-oriented and self-driven, capable of working effectively both independently and collaboratively.
  • General understanding of renewable energy and battery storage market trends and their implications for solar and storage project development.
  • Comfortable engaging with technical experts and discussing technical matters with both internal and external stakeholders, primarily related to energy storage system capabilities and limitations.
  • Results-driven with excellent problem-solving skills, strong analytical abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and CRM tools, with outstanding verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting to diverse audiences, including local project stakeholders and corporate leaders.
Additional Information
  • This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.
  • Willingness to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies is required.
  • Domestic travel may be necessary up to 25% of the time.
Compensation

Salary Range: $74,500 - $109,230 USD annually.

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate. Actual salary may vary based on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other legitimate factors.

ENGIE adheres to all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may differ depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other legitimate factors. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus.
