Position Overview

The Energy Storage Project Coordinator will play a pivotal role in the execution of large-scale battery storage initiatives within the sector. This position involves supporting the advancement of current projects, initiating new developments, and facilitating project acquisitions. You will adeptly convey intricate development scenarios and navigate challenges from the inception of projects through to their construction phase. Travel may be required for site assessments, development tasks, and commercial engagements to ensure project timelines are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and evaluate the flow of information pertinent to project development, collaborating with internal experts and external partners.
  • Take ownership of project inputs and assumptions, coordinating updates with relevant internal teams.
  • Monitor project progress, assess risks and opportunities, and conduct economic analyses to inform decision-making.
  • Make informed decisions and prioritize resource allocation based on a comprehensive understanding of project timelines and financial implications.
  • Maintain an in-depth awareness of the energy storage landscape, including regulatory and competitive factors, to guide development strategies.
  • Track project milestones, manage schedules and budgets, and ensure cross-disciplinary coordination within the organization.
  • Assist in due diligence processes for acquisitions.
  • Negotiate lease and purchase agreements for site control.
  • Coordinate engineering efforts to secure necessary permits and address interconnection issues.
  • Collaborate closely with the engineering team to support design and EPC processes.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Construction, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Environmental Science, Management, or a related analytical discipline is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in an Independent System Operator environment, particularly in energy storage or renewable energy development, is essential, with a focus on project management, permitting, offtake negotiations, interconnection, and planning.
  • Proven track record in successfully developing utility-scale energy storage or renewable energy projects.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and procedures from local planning and building departments is required.
  • Experience in preparing, negotiating, and finalizing commercial agreements, including development and site control agreements.
  • Ability to manage a diverse workload across multiple projects while effectively prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the energy market, particularly regarding interconnection and regulatory matters.
  • Capacity to assess development progress and provide critical insights for management decision-making.

  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 30% of the time, including potential overnight trips.

Compensation

Salary Range: $84,000 - $128,800 annually.

This range reflects the average expected compensation for qualified candidates. Actual salary may vary based on various factors including geography, experience, and education.

In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for a competitive bonus and incentive plan.
