Job Title: Human Resource Manager

Independence Plus is seeking a highly skilled Human Resource Manager to join our team. This role will be based out of our Oak Brook, IL office and will report to our Vice President of Patient and Employee Relations.

Job Summary:

The Human Resource Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy. This includes building and monitoring employee perceptions and experiences, managing benefit enrollment and recruiting, designing and tracking employee retention programs, and ensuring legal compliance with state and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
  • Build and monitor employee perceptions and experiences
  • Manage benefit enrollment and recruiting for field and administrative employees
  • Design and track employee retention programs
  • Ensure legal compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Oversee HR compliance and responsible for personnel records
  • Draft communication to staff regarding payroll, benefits, and process changes
  • Assist Vice President of Patient and Employee Relations and Corporate Controller, as well as partnering with Directors, Quality Assurance, and Finance staff as necessary
  • Gather, collate, and report key statistics through the effective utilization of information systems
  • Onboard new administrative hires and oversee onboarding of field employees
  • Evaluate the cost-effectiveness of the implementation of various HR decisions and report concerns to the Vice President of Patient and Employee Relations and other staff as necessary
  • Provide suggestions related to strategic human resource planning and allocation for improved fiscal and organizational viability
  • Demonstrate insight, sensitivity, confidentiality, and team building working with candidates, staff, management, and executive personnel
  • Manage change while establishing trust by promoting open communication and deescalating stress
  • Motivate all staff to identify goals and function well while promoting patient care
  • Other duties as requested and required to fully perform the position
Requirements:
  • Minimum of bachelor's degree; HR certification preferred
  • At least three to five years of experience in human resources including recruiting and benefit and communication management
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office (intermediate Excel knowledge preferred)
  • Knowledge of Paylocity software with experience in KanTime a plus
  • Solid skills for supervision, team building, and communication
  • Knowledge of corporate business management, governmental regulations, and accreditation standards
