Role Objective:

The primary responsibility of this position is to manage, implement, and evaluate various human resource initiatives and systems to support the recruitment, retention, and engagement of employees while ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and applicable laws.   • Oversee the recruitment process, including screening, interviewing, and reference checks for hourly staff, while maintaining applicant tracking logs to ensure quality hiring practices.
  • Enhance the hotel's reputation as a top employer by building and maintaining relationships with local community organizations and referral sources.
  • Facilitate new employee orientation, ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed and that new hires are well-informed about company policies and procedures.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, acting as a liaison with insurance and retirement plan providers, and ensuring accurate processing of all benefit-related activities.
  • Assist in the design and execution of employee engagement initiatives aimed at reducing turnover and promoting a supportive work environment.
  • Ensure all sensitive employee information is handled with confidentiality and brought to the attention of the Director of Human Resources as necessary.
  • Manage payroll-related tasks, including the preparation and monitoring of Payroll Action Forms to ensure accuracy in payroll processing.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding employment verification, wages, and other employee-related matters in a consistent and compliant manner.
  • Maintain comprehensive employee records and ensure the human resources office operates efficiently.
  • Compile and present various reports to management to ensure compliance with corporate policies and legal requirements.

Qualifications:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience with hospitality brands such as Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, or Hyatt is preferred.

Skills Required:

  • Proficient in basic computer skills with a typing speed of at least 45 words per minute; bilingual abilities are advantageous.
  • Strong hospitality orientation with the capability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Thorough understanding of human resources practices and the ability to perform analytical tasks.
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures to guide decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for conducting interviews and facilitating discussions.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
