Job Summary

The Department Manager is responsible for operational and sales leadership within the department. This role ensures the highest quality of customer service is provided at all levels, from sales to project execution and continued support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overall leadership for the department, aligning department and division goals.
  • Seek out and complete bid opportunities through client relationships, network opportunities, and public postings.
  • Ensure all aspects of projects are met safely, on or under budget, and within the allotted timeframe.
  • Monitor progress towards annual goals and make adjustments to execution.
  • Directly oversee staff in the assigned department, setting goals, reviewing performance, and developing staff to reach their potential.
  • Provide supervision and leadership to the department, guiding staff in areas such as mentoring, coaching, and individual development plans.
  • Determine and implement opportunities for margin enhancement and manage department budget.
  • Develop growth strategies for the department with the Division Manager and Branch Manager.
  • Remain aware of market competition and be prepared to react to changes.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of construction management experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read and understand technical specifications, construction plans, and broad understanding of mechanical systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Organized and able to prioritize tasks.
