Position Title: Plumbing Project Manager
Role Summary: The Plumbing Project Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the planning, execution, and financial management of plumbing projects. This position involves engaging in the initial conceptualization of projects and ensuring their successful organization, scheduling, and implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with various teams, including Superintendents and Foremen, to effectively plan and manage project activities.
- Define project goals, policies, and performance standards in alignment with company protocols and contractual obligations.
- Represent the organization in project meetings and contribute to strategic discussions.
- Oversee the procurement of necessary materials and supplies for project completion.
- Interpret project plans and contractual terms for team members and clients.
- Generate reports on project progress, financials, and scheduling.
- Work alongside engineers to create shop drawings based on architectural designs.
- Maintain communication with clients and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure projects adhere to budgetary constraints and meet customer specifications.
- Coordinate with the Superintendent and other departments to secure necessary resources for project execution.
- Develop and implement project-specific safety plans in collaboration with safety personnel.
- Communicate safety values and project-specific safety requirements to all stakeholders.
- Create and manage project schedules, ensuring compliance with client deadlines and milestones.
- Identify and address any deviations from the project schedule in a timely manner.
- Provide budget forecasts and participate in financial meetings as needed.
- Establish project budgets based on initial estimates and track costs throughout the project.
- Prepare and distribute Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for subcontractors.
- Review subcontractor proposals for thoroughness and alignment with project scope.
- Work with the Contract Administrator to finalize subcontract agreements.
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients regarding potential future projects.
- Negotiate changes to subcontractor scopes in accordance with contract requirements.
- Conduct detailed take-offs and manage Work in Progress (WIP) statistics.
- Ensure accurate project estimates are performed.
- Notify office staff regarding the need for bonds, permits, or certifications for projects.
- Develop comprehensive bid packages, including safety and execution plans.
- Participate in departmental meetings as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned while maintaining a collaborative team spirit.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- A Bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management or a related field is required.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards governing design and operational requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities effectively.
- Capacity to handle confidential information responsibly.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
