About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Sales Engineer to join our team at Danfoss LLC. As a Sales Engineer, you will play a critical role in driving regional sales growth by developing Danfoss-specific solutions directly with customers and channel partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive demand by understanding customers' needs and influencing designs, actively collaborating with Sales Development and Channel Sales Managers.
  • Assist Sales Development and Channel Sales to review RFQs, RFIs, and architect or recommend a solution for the customer, expanding the Danfoss scope of supply.
  • Front-line business development, fueling growth at primarily new large and strategic important Industrial customers (SI's, End Users, EPC's & OEM's) within the assigned region, territory, or set of customers.
  • Plan and execute activities around Industry-specific value propositions, including configuration of drives systems, supporting customer projects.
  • Ensure bi-directional information flow between Sales and Product Management for the development of competitive products and solutions.
  • Support the launch of new products and features.
  • Develop and deliver solutions to customers with Product Management and Development teams.
  • Build and share industry/application knowledge and best practices within the organization by educating/training the team, partners, and customers.
  • Collaborate with regional and global teams of application engineers.
  • Demonstrate select vertical expertise, talking the customer's talk to build trust and confidence.
  • Engage with customers to understand their technical requirements, challenges, and goals.
  • Analyze customer specifications and constraints to propose suitable solutions.
  • Have an in-depth understanding of the company's products or services, including their features, functionalities, and capabilities.
  • Support Center of Excellence and Business Incubator programs, collaborate with field information, proof of concept, and communicate customer needs.
Requirements
  • BA/BS or equivalent work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and background in drives, electric motors, and automation is preferred.
  • Proven track record in a product, application, project, or service specialist role and ability to both individual solutions generating as well as working as part of/leading teams.
  • Background or understanding of the selected vertical/verticals.
  • Skilled in presenting to audiences.
  • Has extensive field experience.
  • Self-motivated, customer-centric, solution and result-oriented.
  • Able to communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams with analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer and growth-oriented mindset and strong analytical ability.
  • Global mindset and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 70% in assigned territory with occasional international travel.
